- Start exercising as soon as possible! Even if this is small movements and a little at a time... every hour or so. Your physiotherapist will give you advice on what to do.
- Regular deep breathing helps control the pain and indirectly assists in facilitating movement. This is also very important to reduce the risk of certain post operative complications!
- Manage your pain! – Do not hold out till later...
- The success of your surgery depends largely on your own cooperation and aftercare!
- Consult a physiotherapist! – There are multiple structures involved that need attention... joints, nerves, muscles and connective tissue.
